Pinoy Super Hero Card

This is a small project that was initiated by PinoySuperHero in the Deviant Art site. He wanted to make a Super Hero Card that is all Filipino. Weather this will materialize in print or not I commended everyone who chiped in their help on creating this. To see all the cards, just click the link above. Version 2.0

What if

What if Kalayaan is a Skrull? Yeah, ok. I admit it. I have been reading the new Marvel Secret Invasion lately.

As a Star Trek fan, I somehow find Secret Invasion story similar with Star Trek:DS9 Dominion War. Were there are lots of changeling impersonating almost anybody. The paranoia is the same feeling. In DS9, there is way to distinguish who is a changeling. What they do is blood test the suspected individual. The blood of a changeling revert to a liquid like gold state. In secret invasion as of the moment, there is still no way to tell who is who.

Invitation for Pinoy Super Heroes

Sarhento Sagrado is looking a few good Pinoy SuperHeroes to fight crime with him.

Sacred Mountain Publications opens its doors to a new era of artistic cooperation.

WHAT TO DO:
email smp_letters@yahoo.com
subject: PINOYS UNITE

Tell me about your OC and where he is located, including timeline please.

I'll email you back with the deal.

Note: all rights to the characters submitted will remain to their respective creators.
------------------------
This is so cool. It is just like an invitation for the Justice League of the Philippines. :-)
I really admire boss Gilbert for initiating this. I hope that this would materialized into a series of comics. I actually have a somehow similar idea like this on mind for quite some time. I would like to guess star each and every indie Pinoy Super Hero out there, starting with Gener Pedrinas Sandugo. But with four months gap each issue. I would take me quite a while.

Owlship

Here is the Owlship from the movie Watchmen. This photo was taken on the last day of the recently concluded San Diego Comicon 2008. They really went to extreme details with this. It is one of the coolest movie pro that I have ever seen. I just got this picture from a fellow deviant artist. I hope someday I could attend a San Diego Comicon.

Kalayaan 5 Page 7

Here is a Kalayaan Comics update for those of you wondering on what is the current status of the upcoming issue. I just finished this page 7 complete with dialogs, which I cannot show you for obvious reasons. I am very pleased with this particular page, since it turned out better than what I have envisioned in mind a few weeks ago. Most of the times, I am disappointed with the pages I create because they turn out less impressive or less appealing on what I first imagine them to be. I wonder if that is also the case of other comic book artist?

Shipping my comics

I just recently concluded two transactions for shipping my comics on the province area of the Philippines. One in Dumaguete City and the other at Dagupan City.

I was scratching the back of my head the other day. Talking to myself why haven't I thought of this before? One of the reasons maybe was that I am thinking that no one in the province area wanted my comics. Gee, was I wrong. So here I am, pimping this to all of you out there who are interested of having a copy of Kalayaan comics. Just email me at gioparedes@yahoo.com. I will be charging the usual cover price plus the shipping charge. Shipping charge may vary from your location. I used the regular post office to send my comics simply because they are much cheaper.

Solar Power

A U.S. scientist has developed a new way of powering fuel cells that could make it practical for home owners to store solar energy and produce electricity to run lights and appliances at night.

A new catalyst produces the oxygen and hydrogen that fuel cells use to generate electricity, while using far less energy than current methods. With this catalyst, users could rely on electricity produced by photovoltaic solar cells to power the process that produces the fuel, said the Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor who developed the new material…

Most U.S. homes with solar panels feed electricity into the power grid during the day, but have to draw back from the grid at night. Nocera said his development would allow homeowners to bank solar energy as hydrogen and oxygen, which a fuel cell could use to produce electricity when the sun was not shining…

Nocera’s catalyst is made from cobalt, phosphate and an electrode that produces oxygen from water by using 90 percent less electricity than current methods, which use the costly metal platinum…

“It’s cheap, it’s efficient, it’s highly manufacturable, it’s incredibly tolerant of impurity and it’s from earth-abundant stuff,” Nocera explained.

I for one hope that the guy at MIT sells it here in the Philippines. I have been telling people that is close to me that the crude oil will eventually be depleted a few years back. It is a non renewable power. It is only a matter of when. And now we are really experiencing the high cost of fuel. This has affected me personally since I commute everyday to work. The fare suddenly becomes high, while my salary stays the same.
