Freeekin Hot

It's freeeekin hot. It's already been a week now with this hot temperature. I already don't have a shirt on, but I'm still sweeting like a pig. And April is still to come, which means that more heat wave and more perspiration.

Some time when I day dream. When I become a millionaire, I would buy a house in a cold place like Tagaytay.

I hope the weather would cool down a little bit, before I get a heat stroke.

I receive a lot of none sense email every day, such as spam, chain letter and stuff that I don't even know existed.
But this letter that I received from an old client in cabanatuan deserved to be posted here.

There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she's blind. She also hated everyone, except her boyfriend who has always been there for her.

She used to say if she could only see the world, she would marry this her boyfriend.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she was able to see everything, including her loyal boyfriend.

Her boyfriend asked her, "Now that you can see the world, can we get married now?"

The girl was so shocked to discover that her boyfriend was blind too. So she refused to marry him.

Shaken by this rejection, her boyfriend walked away in tears. He later wrote a short note to her saying, "Please take good care of my eyes dear."

This is how humans behave when their status changes. Only few remember what life was before, and who has always been there for them even in the most painful situations.

Life Is A Gift

Today before you think of saying an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.

Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep - Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one Maker.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.

Life is a gift, Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, And fulfill it.

Graduation

I’m so proud of my little girl Ma. Joyce Nicole today. Graduating on her kinder garden class at 2nd honor with two medals and a ribbon for best in English. I did not even know that she have a honor until they call her name on stage. I guess my wife forgot to tell me. But never the less, it was a great experience for me.

These are the times that I really enjoy being a father to my kids. When I was in elementary my self, I never have any honors like such. I was always goofing off, playing around throwing jokes at my classmates than studying.

For the honor that my young girl received today I give the credit to my wife. Tutoring her every night and helping her with her assignment. I also helped some of the time, but most of the time it was my better half that was doing all the work.

I'm so proud of my little girl today. Did I already said that?

Sleepy afternoon

I'm having a hard time being awake here at our office in ortigas. I slept late last night and woke up early. To keep me awake, I searched the net for some good old Jokes. And who else comes in to my mind when it comes to joke? None other than one of my favorite comedian and author of many Joke books, Gary Lising.

My name is Gary Lising. Secretary of Health Juan Flavier once said that I have a very nice name -- for a disease.

I was voted as the sex symbol of Assumption College because according to them, I am the only entertainer that looks like a sex organ.

I was already a celebrity even when I was a baby. I weighed 48 pounds when I was born -- but weighed only 3 pounds after I was circumcised. I was the only abortion that lived.

I was such an ugly baby. My mother only puts the negatives of my pictures in our family album.

I was a very thin baby because I was a breastfed baby -- I was breastfed by my father.

I grew up to be a boy wonder -- everybody always looked at me and wondered.

I studied at the Ateneo de Manila where I took up B.S. Economics. That explains why up to now I still am poor as ever.

I went to the United States where I put up my own business that went bankrupt. My business was selling PX goods.

I lived in the penthouse of a 50 story building. My rent was only 200 dollars a month. It was very cheap because it was walkup -- no elevator.

I was drafted by the U.S. Army but I got exempted because of my religion -- I am a devout coward.

I came back to the Philippines because I miss the brownouts. We should be proud of this fact because in the U.S. they don't have brownouts. We are the only country that has it.

Another thing to be proud of is the merging of Erap Estrada's "PACC" with Gringo Honasan's "YOU" -- it would be known as "PACC YOU".

My father is Dr. Jose Lising, a bisexual -- every time he sees sex he buys it.

My mother Nieva Lising is a very religious woman -- she is a nun.

My parents are in the iron and steel business. My mother irons and my father steals.

I am married to Maris Paredes who up to now believes that love is really blind. I also have a son, Bugsy, he's only five years old and he already knows how to be ashamed of me.

I am also a firm believer in a lot of very serious facts of life. Let me share with you a few meaningful facts that I believe in:

I BELIEVE...that if you read too much about the bad effects of smoking -- give up reading.

I BELIEVE...that you should never make love with your eyes unless you are cockeyed.

I BELIEVE...Dick Gordon when he said that women should be put up in a pedestal -- high enough so you could look up their dresses.

I BELIEVE...Baby Boy Poblador when he said that women are the foundation of our society. I also believe him when he said that men are the ones who laid the foundation.

I BELIEVE...Lolit Solis when she said that Mayor Lim was her former boyfriend.

I BELIEVE...Mari Mar when she cried -- I saw tears running down her legs.

Cover Page

Here is the cover that I made for the first issue of Kalayaan. Hopefully if every things goes smoothly as plan, I will be releasing it on this coming june. I have already printed and photo copied 20 copies as of this day. And I am planning to make more as long as my budget will hold. hehe.

Currently I am doing the second issue,I'm already on page 6. And I was drawing like crazy last week end. That was 4 pages in 4 days. Thats a full paged penciled and full paged inked a day. I have never drawn like that before. Most of the time I was just slaking off. It's probably the inspiration that I got from a video that Gerry Alanguilan made for the comic congress. That wasn't his intention (to inspire an aspiring artist like me) for that video, but never the less, it has a profound effect on me to work harder on the things that I do.

Time Flies

Is it me? or is time just going so fast? I checked the calendar it is already March 4,2007? How the heck that happened? The last time I checked it was only starting of the month of January. And before that, every body was just preparing for the new year. And now, we are almost through the first quarter of the year. Maybe I could add a calendar on this blog ?(I wonder where I could find a script for that?), so that I could constantly watch it.

When I was just a kid in the 80's, I wanted to grow old as fast as I can. often, being the youngest of 4 siblings my brothers and sisters does not include me to play with them with our cousins because I was too young. And when I was in elementary, me and my classmate could not play on a basketball court because we were being bullied, by the high school or older guys so that they could play instead of us. Even thou we came there first before them. We would just have the basketball on our hand as we watch the older guys sweat it out in the court. We were hopping that they get tired so that we could play (Those bastard...grrrrrr, hehe). One of my friend even said to us that "One day, when we get Older and Bigger, we will throw those guys off the court".

But now, I want time to go slow for me. Sometimes I was imagining to have the power to stop or slowdown time. I'm always late kasi sa office(hehehe). Or maybe I could beam directly from our house to the office just like in Star Trek.

When I think about the old days. It gives me a mixed feelings of the happy and sad days of my life. But all in all I thank GOD for giving us memories to remember those things. It is what makes us what we are.

Speaking of old things. I have added a new link Nostagia Manila. Reminds me of the old things.

Star Trek XI

Many of my friends does not know that I'm a StarTrek die-hard fan. A Trekkie if you will. I must have the most Star Trek episode in my possession that any person that I know.

I did not share this passion with other persons that I know since they are more interested in something else. Besides they would not get what I mean when I tell them about bio-neuro circuitry gelpacks, tackion fields and neutrino particles. One time I tried, but he just looked at me like a weird scientist while his jaw was way down on his face.

Anyway, the new Star Trek movie is now in production with a tentative release date in December 2008, its way way long time to wait. but at lease paramount is having initiative to revive the Star Trek Universe again after canceling the fourth season of Star Trek Enterprise.

He backed out

Its all over the news paper today. Every tabloid news paper that you could find, he is the front page. The peoples champ Manny Pacquiao backed out from his candidacy for conggressman.

I can only say THANK GOD. As I just said from my previous post, It is better that he leaves politics for the politicians, and boxing to boxers. Maybe in the distant future, if he is still interested at age 40 or so,
when he is retired in boxing. He could run for office.

But for now, it is just better for him to concentrate on his boxing carrer.

Aparently Mayor Lito Atienza is the one who convinced him to back out from his candidacy. It's good that there are still people around him that gives good advice.

Boom - He did it again

I just have just watched the recently concluded "Battle of Cebu". And all of it, My favorite was the fight of Rey "Boom boom" Bautista against the Mexican Marino Montiel Gonzalez. I realy think that is guy is the 2nd Many Pacquiao. With an age of only 20, he is already a title holder. And with an impressive record of 22 wins, 0 Loss, 0 draw, 17 K.O. This guy is next Philippine boxing superstar.

I also liked the fight of Z 'The Dream' Gorres V.S.
Fernando Montiel of Mexico. Even thoe Z did not win, it was still a great fight. That Mexican fighter is a one though son of a beeeeeep. I realy like him. He received many solid punches from Gorrez but was not staggard at anytime. He was super strong, lots of stamina and a power punch to match. Gorrez is a tactical fighter and loose gas on about the end of the fight. He was constantly hugging Montiel on round 11 and 12(the last one) . I was a little bit disappointed with the scoring of the judges. It was clearly on the 1st to 10th round, Gorrez landed many many solid punches. He was way ahead in score (at lease in my count) with even the 2 points deduction. Which also deducted immediately by the referee which I think he should have given a warning first before it was deducted.

Bert Batawang was also very very impressive when knocked down Indonesia's Sofyan Efendi twice in the fourth round to score an impressive TKO win at the 2:12 mark. An old guy (Bert at 35 years old) kicking the butt out of junior (Efendi at only 19 years of age)

Jimrex Jaca also won against the monkey style of Simson Butar-Butar from Indonesia. Which I think that the gaming commission should check if this guy is on drugs, coz it seams that he does not care about the title belt that he is defending. He is also kinda show off which pissed me off. It was a disapointing win for me coz it looks to me like Jimrex just tripped him on purpose and Butar-butar was just too high to get up. He wasn't tire at all coz I was him leaving the ring running towards the locker room. He was just wasn't interested on the fight.

Ultimate Avengers

A friend of mine came to our house last weekend. He was carrying 2 DVDs with him. And to my surprise, It's an Ultimate Avenger Movie 1 and 2 which was released last year. I was exited and surprise at the same time coz to tell it frankly, I did not know that there were an Ultimate Avenger Movie. I was only aware of the comics but not an animation film. And I only know about the recently released Invincible Ironman, but not the Avengers.

I was stunned by the two films. The animation was very clean and the movement of the characters (specially during battle scene) are amazing. For the longest time now, I was getting worried that Marvel are being left-off and stamped by DC when it comes to animation. With their Superman, Justice League Unlimited and The Batman series I was saying Marvel is getting a little bit left behind on animation here. But when I saw the Ultimate Avengers I said to my self, sooo this is what they are up too. And They really come back hard on this one.

I ask my friend, If I could borrow the two DVDs for a while so I can watch it again. It's a good thing that he agree. Coz I really don't want to beg him for it. :)

Why Manny, Why?

 As I was preparing to go to office this morning, when I saw the most bizarre thing that I could imagine on a Philippine morning TV news interview. Manny Pacquiao is RUNNING for a government office. At first, he was saying he hasn’t decided yet. As I listened more. He said that he hasn’t decided yet if he would run for MAYOR or CONGRESSMAN???!!!

Ohhhh my Gulay.

Baket pare ko. Baket? (Why Manny, why?)

Let me just digest this for a few second and as I catch my breath…
Don’t get me wrong folks, I am a BIG fan of Manny Pacquiao. I have been cheering for him for about 9 to 10 years now. I have been watching him in blow by blow in channel 9 even when he was starting at a very early age. He had made many bad decisions in the past, but I just let it go like choosing a bad manager, signing two contract from two rival company at the same. But I said hey, that ok, maybe in the future he would learn better.

But those are peanuts compared to this one. And even more disturbing, he said that, even if he wins for Mayor or Congressman he will not stop fighting in the ring!!!
He will still continue his career as a boxers and perform many fight as he can!!?
What? A Mayor / Congressman boxer?

He has been very versatile with his career. He has been an Action Star, Commercial/ Product endorser Icon and even pursues his interest in music and creates an album and becomes a Singer. Those I can accept, but politics???? I really don’t know.

Maybe if he waited a little while, he could run on a lower office when he is retire from his boxing career. Maybe, just maybe. He would have less criticism and negative feed back from many people.

I’m also very afraid for him that he would loose all of his money. Coz I know how much money flies during and before elections. My mother was one of a campaign assistant in the old days. Even though how much money you have, every thing goes during campaign. And lots and lots of people will take advantage of him. And not to mention loosing your very own life. Many corrupt politician will not think twice on killing their political opponent who ever they are, just to remain in power.

If he really wants to help other people. There are so many ways to do that without going to politics.

I only hope that he would still change his mind and not to run for office.

JLP 2

Recently, I had another itch on drawing another JLP (Justice League Philippines) . Coz I wasn't quite statisfied with the first one. I had a real blast out of this one. 
I realy enjoyed drawing this one.
