Kalayaan 10 Cover WIP

This is still not the final cover of Kalayaan #10. I might just thinker with it a little bit. But more or less, this is it.

I just could not stress enough how happy I am with the coloring job of the very talented Omi Remalante Jr. with this piece. For those that want to commission him, please do so. You will not be disappointed.

K2 Complementary Copy

I just received this morning the complementary copy of Kalayaan #2 from Forex. And just like the first complementary copy of Kalayaan #1 that I got two months ago, the print quality and paper is beautiful.

They have moved the inside front cover page to give way to their colored ads in this issue as seen below.
They have put their second ads just before the pin-up center fold created by non other than the Bayan Knights leader Gilbert Monsanto.

And this is the pin-up center fold provided by Gilbert Monsanto. I am so lucky that a person like him to support me during those early issue of Kalayaan.

The 3rd Ads of Forex goes just after the pin-up.

And the last Forex Ads is in full color that is positioned at the inside back cover of the comics. I was reading these ads, and up to now, I just still can't believe my eyes when I see the state branches such as MetroDC, Baltimore, Virginia Beach and New Jersey. I still have to pinch my self just to make sure I am not dreaming that my comics is being distributed across many states of America.

Stories from the Summer Komikon

POC (Philippine Online Chronicle) just featured me in the second installment of the "Stories from the Summer Komikon 2010" written by Macoy Tang.

Thank you very much Macoy for this wonderful article.

------
Here are some of the pictures taken during our signing at Sputnik Cubao last May 14,2010.

From left to right. Macoy (creator of Maskot and School Run), Michael David (Ang pinaka makulit na Komikero na nakilala ko :D, Sya ang creator ng Kubori Kikiam) and Andrew Villar (creator of Ambush).

Me and Johnny Danganan (The 'CR' expert. Those that had attended the event knows what I mean :D) . FYI, I did not drink any kind of alcohol that night (and so is Macoy) because my body prohibits me from doing so (because of my Liver problem) . Those bottles are from the other Komikeros that had attended.

Also not in the picture but went there were Omeng Estanislao (Lipad and Love story), Freely Abrigo (Kulas and Kapitan Tog), Manix Abrera (Kiko Machine) and Jonas Diego (Komikero Anthology).

Accepting Defeat

I really commend those candidates in this election that had accepted their defeat and have wished their opponent (the winner) good luck and hope for the unity of our country. It really takes great courage to accept failure and rejection. Specially if you have shell out a very large amount of money, sweat and tears. Accepting it is very hard, but it shows that person has maturity and able to move on with his life.

Most of the candidates that I have voted did not won. But we must respect the decision of the majority of the people. Even sometimes that I really feel it is such a foolish decision.

Failure is a part of life. A person expecting that he will not fail in his life is just unrealistic. A person should just learn from what he/she have experience and try to do better the next time around. If you think that your intentions are good, and you are determined enough. You will achieve your goal in the future. May not now, may not tomorrow, but someday you will.

Election Day

It only took me 4 minutes or less to vote on this election. Unlike other precinct that I saw on TV, where people are very congested and only one PCOS machine. The place where I voted has no waiting line at all and it has 3 PCOS machine. I arrived at the precinct at exactly 5PM in the afternoon and my total experience on this automated election was a breeze. I really felt bad for those people that did not had a chance to vote on this election because of so many things. Hopefully that we might learn from this experience and make the next election better.

The only thing that had disappointed me is the fact that the name of my father was not listed on this precinct. Despite the fact that he had voted in that place for almost the past 15 to 20 years. It make me wonder why his name was not listed where last election he voted in that exact place.

Kalayaan featured in Fil-Am site

My comics is really starting to be notice abroad. One of the people that got a copy of my comics is a blogger, and he recently featured it on his site. It is really heart warming to know that your comics (or any creation for that matter) had reach to places that was beyond your wildest dream.

With this, I also would like to announce that I just recently emailed all the pages of Kalayaan #2 to Forex DKM. They will be printing it any time soon.
