Final cover pramis :D

Eto na talaga ang cover ng comics namin .... pramis... :D

I think that this white background is much better than the previous black background. It gives emphasis more on the characters. It is much pleasing to the eyes and at the same time the characters are much easier to look at because of the neat white background.

There is also a plan to use this as a fuge back draft tarpaulin for the Bayan Knights booth at this coming Komikon and sign it by all of the Bayan Knights creators. Now, that is something I really want to see.

Kalayaan T-Shirt in Texas

I was surprise this morning when my old classmate (Neil) from college that now lives in Lubbuck Texas sent me this picture. It's him (Neil) wearing my Kalayaan T-Shirt. Well..., I was kind of expecting this. But never the less, I was still surprise and very happy at the same time.

Me and Rommel (another one of my classmate that now lives in New York), had a chat a few weeks ago. He said that he asked his cousin that is about to go to New York this last week of October. To buy a 3 Kalayaan T-Shirt and bring it along with him when he goes to New York. He plans to send one (through Fedex) to Neil in Texas, the other one to Arnold (one of our classmate too) in Sacramento, California and the last one for him self in New York. (Sometimes I get the feeling that I am the only one left here in the Philippines from our batch.)

Rommel said in his own words... "Kalayaan is going to invade U.S. this November". :-)

I am very very much thankful for these people for their support for what ever I am doing. Even though, I very much know that they are not comics people. They still try their very best to relate with me. Even if sometimes, I feel very awkward talking to them regarding my Kalayaan comics. They still find ways to make me feel and tell me that they are proud and happy for me on what I am doing. Because of our friendship, they are very much happy to support me in what ever they know possible. With that, from the bottom of my heart, I say Thanks Guys.

Bayan Knights Cover

Is this awesome or is this awesome? I was expecting a little bit lighter background (perhaps a dark gray? :D) but never the less, it is one cool cool cover. This project is getting to be exiting by the day. And getting a little bit intense too. With only 20 days before Komikon 2008.

Kalayaan comics reviewed

I would like to say thank you very much to Mark Rosario for a very positive review of Kalayaan 1-4. It is very nice to see that my comics left a mark on a reader to ponder for several days after reading it. I only hope that #5 would have the same positive review.

Click Here to read Marks review.

Prior to Marks review, I also received the same positive review from Robin Rivero. From time to time, when I feel down and depressed. I just re-read her review and it never failed to put a smile on my face.

I can't believe that I missed this on DA (DeviantArt). A review of Kalayaan comics by Jaybhoi. I think he describes me very well in his review. I am just an ordinary guy that love to do a comics and just simply do it. No BUTS, no IFS, just simply do it.

I am flattered with the kind words that these people are giving to my work. Sometimes, I am not sure if I am truly worthy of it. I am very much humbled by their kind words.

Notice to the public

When I delivered a few copies at Limitado store. I could not help my self to buy a Limitado T-shirt. It is very seldom that I buy a clothes for my self. Kaya sinamantala ko na, at remembrance na rin sa pag punta ko duon. :D

And with the shirt that I bought, there is this piece of paper that the sales lady slipped in with the shirt on the plastic bag. She said it is a contact information of their store. When I read it at home, I just shake my head and said "Puro kalokohan talaga tong si Tado".

TADO kayo dyan

Kalayaan comics is now available at

Limitado dress to kill & other things
#57 N.Roxas st. Brgy. Kalumpang Marikina City.

This store is owned by the famous brewRATS (99.5 MHZ on your FM radio) host TADO. So if you happens to be near the area, please check out the place and buy a copy of Kalayaan comics. I delivered all the 5 issues of Kalayaan. It was lucky for me that Renie and Levy (two members of Bayan Knight) are a friend of Tado. They were kind enough to ask Tado in my behalf to consign my comics to his store. With that, an old saying came into my mind. "In business, sometimes it is not WHAT you know that matters, but WHO you know."

Aside from the Limitado store, I also delivered a few copies of issue #5 at comic odyssey last Saturday at Robinson Galleria. The owner (Boss Sandy) is also helping us at the Bayan Knights group by being a sponsor. I only hope that he never gets tired of helping an independent comic creators like us.
