I just finished another page of Kalayaan #13 and my assistant (Joyce Nicole) is just helping me erase some of the excess pencil on this page. She really enjoys helping me out and erasing those unnecessary pencil on every page I create. Sabi nya sa akin para daw kunyari sya ang gumawa... hehehe.... Joyce is really my Joy in life. :-)

Kalayaan comics ships to Leyte
Thank you very much to Bong Yap for purchasing Kalayaan comics. All 11 issues of KALAYAAN comics are already signed and ready to be shipped to Leyte. It would have been #1 to 12. But issue #12 is already sold out. I will try to re-print a few more copies next week.
Free Kalayaan sketch for Bong Yap (Did it on my Lunch break). Thanks for purchasing 11 issues of my comics. Pasensya na po sa table ko at medyo magulo. :-)
Ready for the Leyte destination. Hopefully (if every thing goes well) this package will arrive there about a week or so. I just used the ordinary Philippine Post office because simply it is the most cheapest. I do not want to burden the buyer so much with the shipping cost.

To France with Love
Many thanks to Damien Hervouet from Nantes, France for buying a copy of Kalayaan Vol.1 and most of all for his kind words. I have met him only through facebook. He is a comics enthusiast that buys comics from different countries. He had just recently visited Philippines for a more personal reason. Too bad he did not go here in Metro Manila but rather directly to Cebu city. He bough my comics there in Cebu through a National Book Store branch.
Thanks again Damien... :-)

Kalayaan Comics on Digital Format
Kalayaan comics is now available in Digital format. And it is translated to English so that non-tagalog speaking/reading people could also understand my comics. There is this great debate on the internet between other Filipino indie comics creator on what language we should use. Because if we use tagalog (our major local dialect in the Philippines), some people will say that we should use English to capture a wider audience. And if we use English, some people will say that we are not being nationalistic or patriotic. In my case, I just created both format. I sell printed comics that is written in tagalog, and I also sell my comics on English digital format through Flipreads targeted for the international market.
It is just a little bit tedious doing both format. As of this writing, I already published 12 issues of tagalog printed version. And for the English digital format, I already translated the first 3 issues and it is up at Flipreads website and ready for download. It only cost P60 each or around $1.40 per download.

PH is making a mark
After many comics conventions are popping up every where in Philippines, it's the international comics personalities are now coming here. This is a good time to be a comics fanboy.
One of my favorite artist David Finch will be having a signing at Fullybooked on March 11 to 13,2012. So, for those David Finch fans that lives in Manila, you better prepare your collections to be signed.
---
For those aspiring artist that have been dreaming to work at Marvel comics, this is your chance, because C.B. Cebulski, the Marvel talent scout is coming to the Philippines to review art portfolio. But you've better hurry because the deadline of submission if on March 10, and National bookstore specifically said that they will not accept any more submission after that. He will also have a "Crash Course on the Comic Book Biz" on Marh 17,2012 ... 3PM at Bestseller Robinsons Galleria.
---
And I have just confirm this today, Mark Millar is indeed going to the Philippines for a signing. National Bookstore just won the most pre-order contest that Mark Millar conducted a few weeks ago. The whole creative team of Superior and Supercrook will have a signing this coming May (no specific date yet).
