Kalayaan comics reviewed

I would like to say thank you very much to Mark Rosario for a very positive review of Kalayaan 1-4. It is very nice to see that my comics left a mark on a reader to ponder for several days after reading it. I only hope that #5 would have the same positive review.

Prior to Marks review, I also received the same positive review from Robin Rivero. From time to time, when I feel down and depressed. I just re-read her review and it never failed to put a smile on my face.

I can't believe that I missed this on DA (DeviantArt). A review of Kalayaan comics by Jaybhoi. I think he describes me very well in his review. I am just an ordinary guy that love to do a comics and just simply do it. No BUTS, no IFS, just simply do it.

I am flattered with the kind words that these people are giving to my work. Sometimes, I am not sure if I am truly worthy of it. I am very much humbled by their kind words.

Notice to the public

When I delivered a few copies at Limitado store. I could not help my self to buy a Limitado T-shirt. It is very seldom that I buy a clothes for my self. Kaya sinamantala ko na, at remembrance na rin sa pag punta ko duon. :D

And with the shirt that I bought, there is this piece of paper that the sales lady slipped in with the shirt on the plastic bag. She said it is a contact information of their store. When I read it at home, I just shake my head and said "Puro kalokohan talaga tong si Tado".

TADO kayo dyan

Kalayaan comics is now available at

Limitado dress to kill & other things
#57 N.Roxas st. Brgy. Kalumpang Marikina City.

This store is owned by the famous brewRATS (99.5 MHZ on your FM radio) host TADO. So if you happens to be near the area, please check out the place and buy a copy of Kalayaan comics. I delivered all the 5 issues of Kalayaan. It was lucky for me that Renie and Levy (two members of Bayan Knight) are a friend of Tado. They were kind enough to ask Tado in my behalf to consign my comics to his store. With that, an old saying came into my mind. "In business, sometimes it is not WHAT you know that matters, but WHO you know."

Aside from the Limitado store, I also delivered a few copies of issue #5 at comic odyssey last Saturday at Robinson Galleria. The owner (Boss Sandy) is also helping us at the Bayan Knights group by being a sponsor. I only hope that he never gets tired of helping an independent comic creators like us.

D.A. get together.

This is probably the biggest D.A. (deviantart) user get together in the Philippines. It was lots of fun seeing a person that you only normally talk to through the means of the internet.

Just click the image to enlarge it. :D

Stores for my comics

I just recently delivered the latest issue of Kalayaan at the Bookay-Ukay store in UP village. Too bad I forgot to bring them a Kalayaan poster to help them boost up the sales of their comics there. They emailed me a couple of week ago, asking me if I have any idea to make their comic sales go up. A poster came into my mind at first. But after returning there, I could easily see the problem. The comics are not visible enough to the buyers. They are only stacked in one pile. It is just not visible enough. I think I will just email them regarding this.

I also had found a new store that will sell my comics. It's the Carmen Philcoa Newstand near UP-Philcoa Jeepney Terminal. This small but compacted stand does not only sells newspaper. It also has magazine, pocketbook, cross word puzzle, song hits and of course comics, independent (Gerilya Komiks, that is published by Saging Komiks... bumili ako. P15 lang kasi eh.) and main stream (I also saw a CJC komiks there). The owner was kind enough and easy to talk to. I delivered all the issues of Kalayaan there. From issue 1 to 5. And the beauty of this place is that it is a very accessible to many people. Daanan talaga ng tao, since it is just besides the UP-Philcoa Jeepney Terminal. So majority of the student in UP Diliman passes this place. It is also the same terminal you will go, if you are going to attend this coming Komikon. I hope that I could find more stores like these to sell my comics.
